GIS Solutions

    • Petroleum Industry: Create detailed maps for exploration, drilling, and pipeline management, including reservoir mapping, lease analysis, and environmental impact assessments.

    • Utility Industry: Develop precise asset maps for electric, water, and gas utilities, supporting infrastructure planning, maintenance, and outage management.

    • Advanced spatial analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

    • Integrate disparate datasets (geological, operational, and environmental) into unified GIS platforms.

    • Design and maintain geospatial databases for real-time data access and updates.

    • Ensure data accuracy and compatibility with industry-standard software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).

    • Petroleum: Monitor pipeline integrity, track rights-of-way, and assess encroachment risks using GIS-based tools.

    • Utilities: Map and manage utility assets (e.g., poles, transformers, pipelines) for operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.

    • Provide 3D modeling and visualization for complex infrastructure projects.

    • Conduct environmental impact studies and habitat mapping to meet regulatory requirements.

    • Support compliance with federal and state regulations through geospatial reporting and documentation.

    • Offer risk assessment tools for spill response planning and disaster preparedness.

    • Develop bespoke GIS applications and dashboards tailored to client workflows.

    • Automate repetitive tasks with scripting (e.g., Python, ArcPy) for enhanced productivity.

    • Provide training and support for in-house GIS teams.

    • Utilize satellite imagery, LiDAR, and drone-based data for terrain analysis, land use planning, and infrastructure monitoring.

    • Deliver high-resolution imagery for site selection and project feasibility studies.

Tessa Arts, BSc, MSc, P.Geo

Tessa holds a MSc. in petroleum geology from the University of British Columbia and a BSc. in geology from the University of Alberta.

Tessa is a seasoned geologist with a decade of experience in the oil and gas industry and clean energy sectors, specializing in hydrodynamic evaluations and reservoir characterization. Her work as a geologist has contributed to successful exploration and development projects across diverse geological settings, including the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, Eastern Canada (on and offshore), South American sub-Andean basins and the Pannonian Basin in Eastern Europe.

As a geologist, Tessa regularly uses GIS workflows for geospatial analysis and data integration, becoming a power user in ArcGIS. She has leveraged GIS technology to enhance geological mapping, streamline spatial data workflows, and support decision-making in exploration and production operations. At Arts Consulting, this unique skill set is leveraged for both subsurface and surface projects in a variety of industries including oil and gas and utility focused clients.
